Saudi Arabia Railways (SAR) and Italian hotel chain Arsenale will launch the first luxury train in the Middle East in 2026. Called Dream of the Desert, the train's interiors will be inspired by the kingdom's desert landscape and architecture, with references to landmarks such as the ancient Madain Salih complex and the ancient city of Hail.

The train consists of 14 carriages housing 34 luxury suites and there will also be a spa onboard. In addition to luxurious finishes and the highest level of service, passengers on the Middle East Express will be offered menus from top chefs.

Departing from Riyadh, the train will traverse the Northern Railway network, allowing guests to explore some of Saudi Arabia’s most breathtaking heritage and natural sites.
In collaboration with the Ministry of Culture, the train will feature curated cultural programs, enabling passengers to experience Saudi traditions in an immersive and engaging way.
