Hollywood star Will Smith's team Westbrook Racing has won the E1 Grand Prix on Lake Como in Italy. Westbrook Racing's Lucas Ordóñez and Sarah Price beat the crew of another celebrity, tennis player Rafael Nadal's Team Rafa. Team Brazil by Claure Group rounded out the top three.

The world's first international electric boat racing championship, E1, is the new favourite toy of celebrities. In addition to Will Smith and Rafael Nadal, the championship features teams led by world famous DJ Steve Aoki, soccer star Didier Drogba, cricket star Virat Kohli, Formula One driver Sergio Perez and Grammy winner Marc Anthony. Leading the overall championship standings is Team Brady, the team of NFL star Tom Brady.

The racing series is a project by Spanish businessman Alejandro Agag, the creator of Formula E. All teams use identical hydrofoil boats called RaceBird. The monotype was developed by SeaBird Technologies in collaboration with the global racing league SailGP. The electric-powered boats can reach speeds of up to 50 knots (93 km/h). Races take place in spectacular locations such as Monte Carlo, Jeddah, Puerto Banus, and Venice.

Westbrook Racing is named after Smith's international production company. Interestingly, the team's pilots switched to powerboat racing from motor sports. Lucas Ordonez has raced in Le Mans, as well as Super GT and Formula 3, while the stunt driver and motorbike racer Sarah Price has 17 national motocross championships to her credit, and she also competed in X-Games and Dakar Rally.

Will Smith is not only passionate about racing. He has invested a considerable amount of money in Arc, an electric boat start-up, founded by former Tesla employees. The actor is also often seen relaxing on luxury charter yachts with his family and friends.
