Гибрид вертолёта и самолёта, предложенный американской компанией XTI Aircraft, будет лишён главных недостатков этих летательных аппаратов: первые не могут похвастаться скоростью, вторым нужны взлётно-посадочные полосы. TriFan 600 сможет показывать 644 км/ч, и два его турбовальных двигателя мощностью 2500–2800 л.с. вместе с тремя канальными вентиляторами, расположенными в крыльях, позволят совершать вертикальный взлёт и посадку. Максимальная высота 9144 м будет достигаться не более чем за 11 мин. Кроме пилота TriFan 600 сможет поднять в воздух пятерых пассажиров.
