For the first time, PROyachting organised a multi-stage competition in the J/70 class in 2024. That year, 18 teams from across Russia gathered at the Smolenka Marina on Vasilyevsky Island. This year, participants have the option to compete with their own yachts and sails. Each stage will consist of three racing days. "Last season, participants in our regattas in St. Petersburg fully appreciated the exciting sailing area and the advantages of the J/70 class," says Mikhail Kondratyev, the event organiser and CEO of PROyachting. "There was a demand for a professional series, so the format of the St. Petersburg Cup has become more competitive. We are expecting a very strong lineup of participants and intense battles on the course." The series will take place on May 23–25, July 4–6, and August 1–3, with the final scheduled for September 5–7.
