Apreamare celebrates the launch of the flagship Maestro 88

In the Italian town of Campania, the 'll Canto degli Italiani' by Goffredo Mameli and Michele Novaro was played. The Italian national anthem marked the launch of the first Apreamare Maestro 88, the new flagship and first superyacht of the Sorrento shipyard, a renowned manufacturer of small motor yachts styled after traditional fishing gozzi.


The emotional moment of the christening and launching of the yacht was shared with the owner by Rita Pollio, CEO of Apreamare and Cataldo Aprea, President of the company, as well as the entire staff of the company — the client asked everyone to attend.


Maestro 88 was a new challenge for the shipyard, the architect Marco Casali and the engineer Umberto Tagliavini. It is a semi-custom Navetta yacht with a semi-planing hull that retains the spirit and heritage of the Maestro range, but takes it to a new level of functionality and performance.


The yacht measures 27.1 metres in length, 7 metres in beam, 1.8 metres in draft and has a displacement of 90 tonnes fully loaded. By default, the Maestro 88 is equipped with two MAN engines of 1650 horsepower each. They are capable of pushing the yacht to speeds of up to 22 knots and provide a range of 1000 nautical miles at a cruising speed of 10 knots. But the owner of the first hull opted for more powerful engines of 2,000 horsepower each.


The Maestro 88 is the real epitome of a ‘floating beach villa‘, with an abundance of open space for relaxation, and the huge glazing area and sliding glass panels completely blur the boundary between the outside and the interior. The yacht has a large beach club, the flybridge is equipped with a lounge area and a bar, and there are also solar panels incorporated into the hardtop.
