If you've decided to immerse yourself in the aquatic lifestyle, your boat should be reliable, beautiful, high-performing, and of a reputable brand. Even if you particularly enjoy speeding across the water or riding the waves on skis or a wakeboard, it's better to choose a versatile model with a set of options for water sports. It'll be more than enough to start with, and you can consider getting a towboat once you’ve gotten the hang of it. Compact fiberglass bowriders from the leading American brand Sea Ray SPX are a smart choice for our waterways. This year, the brand has completely revamped this lineup, with each model undergoing a facelift. The new hull designs are inspired by Sea Ray's top-tier boats. The profile has become sharper and sportier, the bow elegantly tapered, and the gunwales at the transom gently slope down to the swim platform. As usual, Sea Ray boats are available in two configurations: with an inboard engine or an outboard motor. Let’s take a closer look at the new 7-meter SPX 210 Outboard.
It accommodates ten people (twelve in the American version). You can take your family and friends on a trip, load inflatable paddleboards (there’s plenty of storage space), speed to a picturesque river, and paddle around—your Sea Ray remains your floating base. When it’s time for lunch, you return, have a bite to eat, and in the evening, you head home at full speed, tired but happy.

Whether your country house is close to the water or far away doesn’t matter—you’ll just need a car with a trailer. According to Russian regulations, a load is considered oversized if it’s wider than 2.55 meters. The European version of the Sea Ray SPX 210 OB is 1 cm narrower, so you can safely transport the boat behind your car. If the boat needs repairs or you want to store it in a yacht club hangar for the winter, you can transport it the same way. Another advantage of the Outboard version is that you can replace the outboard motor yourself if necessary and transport it separately from the boat.
For the SPX 210 OB, the base configuration includes a 150-horsepower Mercury Mercruiser engine, which can be upgraded to a 200-horsepower version upon request. The boat is equipped with the Dynamic Running Surface system, which optimizes trim for faster planing, enhances comfort, and reduces fuel consumption depending on speed and other factors. The outboard motor is located in a special recess at the center of the swim platform so it doesn’t interfere with water access. There’s plenty of space around it, though. On the starboard side, there’s a folding metal ladder with four steps. Above the platform, there’s a wide sunbed with a comfortable headrest. Two adults can lie on it without crowding each other. The platform surface is covered with SeaDek non-slip material, which is pleasant to the touch.

The new version focuses on active recreation. At the center, there’s a pylon for attaching a waterski tow rope. In the cockpit floor, there’s a full-size compartment for skis, boards, life jackets, and other gear. Wake enthusiasts can opt for an additional arch designed for water sports, which also features a retractable canopy to shield the cockpit from the sun and rain.
The main space of the boat is located below the swim platform—you descend into the cockpit via a single step. This design is convenient: the high gunwales ensure the safety of restless children, and you can even bring your beloved dog along for the journey.
Along the port side, there’s a long, angular convertible seat. If you imagine it as the letter L, the bottom stroke is a soft aft sofa. By the gunwale, there’s a foldable single seat, and to the left of the pilot’s seat is a large chair with an adjustable backrest. Slide it toward the bow, and you get a comfortable lounger. The bases of the seats contain spacious storage compartments, and even the step is cleverly utilized—a small refrigerated compartment for drinks and snacks is hidden underneath. The table, when disassembled, is stored in a special compartment in the left half of the control console. It can be set up in a minute or less.

The captain can also join the conversation or meal—their seat swivels. On the dashboard, there’s a 7-inch Simrad touchscreen display. The engine is monitored by the SmartCraft Connect digital system, which displays all engine readings, sonar, and chart plotter data. A special armrest under the throttle and gear control prevents fatigue during extended navigation. The VesselView system transmits boat operation data to a phone via Bluetooth, including alerts about engine issues.
As with all Sea Ray boats, the cockpit deck is made of durable hand-molded fiberglass and can be optionally covered with high-quality vinyl mats, which are easy to remove and clean, or SeaDek non-slip material.
The boat is equipped with a premium Fusion SRX400 audio system, featuring a subwoofer installed behind the pilot’s seat and speakers distributed throughout the boat, delivering crystal-clear sound that surrounds you and immerses you in musical bliss.

The bow passage is located in the center. The space between the bow seats can be completely filled with cushions, transforming it into a sun deck or a playpen for children during stops. If you leave the opening unfilled, four people can enjoy the thrill of speeding along with the wind in their faces.
Options are offered in packages. The Comfort Bundle includes the aforementioned bow cushion. The Entertainment Bundle upgrades the Fusion audio system to the Premier version and adds blue LED lighting. The Essentials Bundle provides covers for the cockpit and bow area and installs SeaDek material on the swim platform.
As always, Sea Ray offers numerous color options for the boat’s exterior and interior. Any customer preference will be accommodated. At exhibitions, they showcased a two-tone model with a white hull, black windshield frame, black sports arch, white vinyl seats, black trim details, and contrasting stitching. It looked very striking.
