An official groundbreaking ceremony for the Yamal and Jood projects, aimed at developing coastal areas, took place in the Sultanate of Oman.

The Jood project in Sultan Haitham City and the Yamal project along the Al-Manuma coastline will include the construction of residential, commercial, and recreational facilities across a total area of 4.9 million square metres. While Jood represents a modern urban development, Yamal will significantly transform the coastal zone of the Gulf of Oman.

Yamal will span 1,760 metres of shoreline on the northwestern edge of the Arabian Sea. The project will feature over 6,000 residential and hospitality units, along with shopping centres, parks, and sports facilities. The sea will "enter" the urban landscape through artificial lagoons and canals connected to open water.

The highlight of the project will be a state-of-the-art international marina. Curved piers will be constructed in the bay, providing docking spaces for vessels within the inner harbour. Onshore, a complex of buildings designed in the same rounded architectural style will house a yacht club, various yacht services, and water sports centres.
