The French design startup Waiting for Ideas has unveiled the PP-1, a minimalist vinyl record player crafted from a single block of aluminium and fully automated for effortless use.

Forget tonearm adjustments—simply place your vinyl record on the platter with the playable side facing down, press "Play," and enjoy the music. The device automatically detects the rotation speed (33 or 45 RPM) and allows for smooth track navigation, combining simplicity with precision.

The turntable measures 35 x 35 centimetres with a height of just 7 centimetres. It features a diamond elliptical stylus (0.4 x 0.7 mil), is powered via USB-C (5V), and includes a 3.5 mm mini-jack audio output for easy connectivity.

The PP-1 comes paired with a set of equally minimalist passive speakers. These speakers deliver up to 80W of power with a frequency range of 44 Hz to 20 kHz, offering clear and dynamic sound. They connect via banana plugs, ensuring compatibility with high-quality audio setups.
