Air of freedom
This is a place where nature lovers can immerse themselves in the watercolor hues of late sunsets and the delicate berry aroma of the tundra, while adventure seekers dive into thrilling experiences. The Arctic Hotel is located on the Sredny Peninsula, 140 km from Murmansk. Guests can stay in spheres, cozy cottages, or a spacious villa with a sea view. Additionally, the hotel offers a spa area, a restaurant featuring Arctic cuisine (two spheres), and plenty of activities.
"Kitovy Bereg" owns a large fleet of vessels of various classes and capacities, as well as modern outdoor equipment.
Guests have the opportunity to venture into the Barents Sea for a photo safari to spot whales. The waters are home to Minke whales, orcas, and, if lucky, humpbacks. Travelers search for these marine giants aboard fast RIB boats.
There’s also real hunting—crab safari in Dolgaya Shchel. Few know that the Barents Sea is abundant with Kamchatka crabs, introduced here in the 1960s and thriving ever since. During this "crabbing" adventure, you head out to sea on the comfortable "Kegor" vessel, which accommodates up to 10 people. The northern landscapes delight the eye as you and your team retrieve pre-set traps and immediately taste the freshest catch onboard.
The safari comes in various formats. The most exciting is the so-called Grand Safari, where participants are issued a license to take home up to 5 kg of crab meat. The hotel can freeze the catch for you to bring back as a gift (and a source of envy) for friends.
Another route leads to the northernmost point of the European part of Russia—Cape Nemetsky. In the open sea, guests can sample freshly caught sea urchins, scallops, and mussels.
If you prefer traditional fishing, the Barents Sea won’t disappoint. It’s teeming with cod, haddock, saithe, sea bass, and halibut.
For those seeking unique experiences, the new Arctic activity—floating on waves—might be perfect. You’ll be provided with a hydrothermal suit, allowing you to descend from the boat, lie on the icy water, and gaze at the sky. The meditative sensations are far more vivid than those from salon-style floating in saltwater solutions.
The rugged terrain, colorful tundra, and views of the Barents Sea coastline create ideal settings for land-based activities. Trekking deserves special mention. The Arctic Hotel offers fascinating walking routes along the Musta-Tunturi ridge, including visits to historical sites where the front line passed during World War II. On ATVs or buggies, you can reach the Sredny Peninsula to explore seids, natural rock formations that the Sami attributed mystical properties to.
The cuisine at the "Kitovy Bereg" restaurant is a highlight. The chef works wonders with local ingredients: venison, game, seafood—all fresh and prepared with love. Crab and scallop tom yum, solyanka, venison stroganoff, and cloudberry crème caramel are dishes that would be considered signature creations in many city restaurants.
After a busy day, guests can unwind in the "Kitovy Bereg" bath complex. Even better, enjoy a cup of aromatic coffee on the terrace while admiring the rugged beauty of northern nature.
