The Turkish shipyard Mengi Yay has launched the first 48 metre yacht in the Serenissima series. The sub-500GT yacht with a steel hull and an aluminium superstructure was designed by Venetian studio Nuvolari Lenard for an experienced owner who wanted a yacht with guest spaces matching larger vessels.

The efficient hull, designed by Dutch studio Van Oossanen Naval Architects, should provide a range of 4,000 nautical miles at 12 knots.

Nuvolari Lenard designed the Serenissima interiors under the "artistic direction" of the architect Valentina Zannier. The renderings show a warm and colourful aesthetic with many striking details like the mirrored ceiling or wooden columns. Floor-to-ceiling windows fill the guest areas with natural light. An impressive wine cellar is located in the main salon.

Guests are accommodated in four cabins, two of which can be combined into a VIP suite by removal of a sliding partition. The owner's suite occupies most of the bridge deck and opens onto the aft open deck.

The shipyard calls the Serenissima's sundeck 'one of the largest in this size category'. It includes a sunbathing area aft, a swimming pool and a shaded lounge area.
The spacious beach club features folding terraces, sofas and a bar. There is a 2.6 tonne retractable crane on board, capable of loading a large tender or a car. The garage has enough space for diving equipment, a 7.2 metre guest tender, two auxiliary tenders and a jet ski.

«Her lines do reflect a certain masculinity, with a powerful, high bow and an unmistakable aft characterised by a transformer platform and water sports area, — said Dan Lenard, designer and co-founder of Nuvolari Lenard. – But she also has her graceful, feminine touches too, from her sleek and elegant profile to her serene interior design».
