The shipyard had been quietly teasing its loyal clients about a game-changer in the 50–60-foot compact yacht market. As a result, seven hulls of this highly anticipated model were sold more than a year before the official premiere—a true testament to its allure! Now, the veil of secrecy has been lifted, and we can finally take a closer look at the much-awaited Ferretti Yachts 580.
The successor to the best-selling Ferretti Yachts 550 is one meter longer but far from being a "plus-size" model. Its lines have become sharper, and the profile, with its floating flybridge, is even more striking than its predecessor. In terms of width, it has grown only by a few centimeters.
This project is the brainchild of the Product Development Strategy Committee, led by Piero Ferrari, and the engineering team at Ferretti Group. The exterior design was crafted by Filippo Salvetti, the creative force behind the impressive 860 and 1000 models, as well as three other Ferretti yachts and the Navetta 30 for sister brand Custom Line. Speaking about the Ferretti Yachts 580, Salvetti takes pride in its razor-sharp silhouette and expansive panoramic windows, which offer breathtaking ocean views.

The first thing that catches your eye is the "levitating" flybridge. It appears significantly larger than on previous models, extending further over the cockpit and sitting higher up. The dark glass bulwarks widen towards the top, creating an elegant effect. Standing on the flybridge, you might feel like the cherry on top of a martini glass—though this yacht is all about smooth sailing. The standard package includes Humphree dynamic trim interceptors, while an optional Seakeeper NG6 gyro stabilizer can be added for extra stability.
The flybridge features two generously sized sun loungers, an open helm station, a wet bar, and a dining area with a table. The seating arrangement has been optimized to leave more open space—perfect for dancing on warm evenings. The radar arch has been moved further back and lowered to enhance visibility and keep the space uncluttered.

On the main deck, the cockpit is outfitted with a stern sofa and a foldable table. Between the cockpit and the main salon, you'll find a galley equipped with a refrigerator, cooktop, and bar. This layout is designed for seamless serving, whether you're dining al fresco or enjoying a meal indoors. The galley is separated from the salon by an electric glass partition for added convenience. Inside the salon, a cozy U-shaped sofa and a large table make it the perfect spot for a home theater experience, allowing you to watch movies with friends and family.
Details about the helm station are still under wraps, but it's confirmed that it will incorporate the latest technological advancements from Ferretti Yachts. The standard package includes the XENTA electro-hydraulic steering system, with an optional joystick control available.
The owner's suite, complete with an en-suite bathroom and a private office, is located midship. The forward section of the yacht houses a spacious VIP cabin, while the third cabin, equipped with twin single beds, is situated between them. The third cabin shares a bathroom with the VIP suite, but an alternative layout allows for an additional bathroom in place of the owner's office.

The interiors, designed by Ideaeitalia, exude understated elegance. The furniture, lighting, and décor feature clean geometric lines. Upholstery is crafted from plain-textured fabric, while armrests and chair backs are finished in natural leather. Special attention has been paid to lighting and spatial design. The master suite, with its luxurious finishes, feels like a high-end apartment on land. To enhance the sense of space, mirrors and lighting have been strategically placed throughout. Most walls are covered with mirrored panels, except for the furniture facades and window frames. For added privacy, the office can be separated from the bedroom with a semi-transparent glass partition. Alternatively, leaving the space open allows more natural light to flood in through the two large windows and a smaller window in the office area.

Like other new Ferretti Yachts models, the 580 offers two interior color schemes. The "Classic" palette features warm, earthy tones such as green, cocoa, and dove gray. The "Contemporary" palette leans towards cooler shades, with bleached wood, light gray, and blue fabrics.
Under the hood, the yacht packs a serious punch. The standard configuration includes twin Volvo Penta engines, each delivering 900 horsepower. For those seeking even more power, an upgraded version with twin 1000-horsepower engines is available, enabling a top speed of 31.5 knots.
The first hull is scheduled for completion in October, with the public debut set for Boot Düsseldorf in January 2023. This compact, stylish, and high-performance yacht is sure to make waves in the market.
