On May 18, PROyachting celebrated the official start of the new sailing season in Moscow with a spectacular regatta on the waters of the Khimki Reservoir. The event featured modern J/70 sports yachts and brought together 24 teams to compete.

The top spot was claimed by the crew of Intersen Plus, a regular participant in evening regattas. Alongside seasoned sailors, the event also welcomed newcomers, who were guided by professional skipper-instructors as they navigated the course.

After the regatta, a ceremony was held to honour the winners and finalists of the 2024 evening regatta season and the 2024/25 winter series.

  • In the Tuesday Warm-Up Race series, the MIR crew emerged victorious, securing first place in the overall standings with seven wins throughout the season.
  • The Wednesday Night Race championship was claimed by Black Swan. In 2023, this team won the Tuesday regatta series, and last season, they added the Wednesday evening race trophy to their collection.
  • The main prize for the 2024 season in the Thursday PROyachting Fun Race series went, for the second consecutive year, to the Intersen Plus crew. They earned nine gold medals over the season, finishing seven points ahead of their closest rivals.

Additionally, we’ve organised weekend regattas at the Gals Yacht Club near Moscow. I’m confident that the upcoming season will be even more exciting and eventful.”
