Picchiotti has unveiled the first renders of its 61-meter motor yacht, Project Vintage, described by the shipyard as embodying the "old money" style. At the same time, the Italians assure that the yacht is equipped with modern technologies, including artificial intelligence, to appeal to the next generation of Forbes list elites. One interesting feature is the firepit on the foredeck.
The vintage aesthetic is in the brand's DNA. The shipyard dates back to 1575, with its first records in Limite sull’Arno, the shipbuilding hub of Medici-era Florence. During the Renaissance, it evolved from small merchant vessels along the Arno River to sailing ships, then to 19th-century oceanic sailboats and steamships. The shipyard transitioned from commercial to military vessels, and from the 1920s, especially post-World War II, it focused only on yachts.
It all began with the aristocracy and the upper class indulging along the French Riviera on their splendid wooden yachts. Since then, Picchiotti has always maintained a consistent vintage and thrilling yachting style.
