Designer Jay Aberdoni has unveiled a new 80-meter superyacht concept, Standby. The yacht is part of Oceanco's Simply Custom portfolio, designed to simplify the commissioning process by offering clients a proven naval platform from Lateral Naval Architects in a variety of designs.

Its key specifications:

  • an overall length of 80 meters
  • a top speed of 16.5 knots
  • a volume of 2,500-2,700 GT
  • plus significant customisation options for both exterior and interior designs.
The concept is named after the "stillness" of its exterior lines. Aberdoni notes that by removing the unnecessary, Standby emphasises the importance of living in the moment and appreciating the surroundings.

One of the design highlights is the bow area, which includes a helipad and a firepit lounge. The renderings also showcase a sundeck pool, a large dining table on the upper deck, and a side-opening balcony for tender pickups.

The beach club is inspired by "classic Japanese dojos," featuring tatami flooring, natural materials, and simple shapes. It includes a spa and a gym. The guest accommodation includes six guest cabins and the owner's suite.

All Simply Custom designs will be equipped with a "highly optimised" stabilisation system, pod drives, electric propulsion, and onboard battery energy storage.
