Neon
A newly established shipyard has already unveiled its debut project, the 78-metre superyacht Neon — a kind of calling card. The concept is based on an innovative, bulkhead-free platform from Lateral Naval Architects, allowing for an open interior layout with spaces that can be transformed to meet each client's needs.
The shipyard's founder is Theodoros Fotiadis, a Greek yacht designer and owner of Berlin-based studio T. Fotiadis Design. His plans include not only building 65 m+ luxury yachts but also offering refit services and eventually creating a global yacht maintenance network.
Astra Nord's production facilities are located in the city of Stralsund in northern Germany. The shipyard has enclosed, heated workshops covering 97,000 square metres, an 800-tonne crane, and a 270-metre floating dock. The first order has already been received — a refit of the 47.2-metre yacht Ocean Dreamwalker III.
