Tykun X
An aluminum hull, a carbon fiber hardtop, powerful engines, a cabin with a toilet, and a transformable cockpit with fold-down sides — this winning combination was chosen for its “civilian” model by the Italian company MED Group from Cervia, which specializes in building high-speed aluminum boats for the military and government use.
The 10.5-meter Tykun X is capable of reaching speeds of up to 55 knots, powered by two Mercury Verado 400 engines. The aluminum hull ensures strength, lightness, and excellent seaworthiness even in challenging conditions. The two-step hull, designed by Carlo Bertorello, enhances stability and efficiency, making the boat suitable for both high-speed cruising and comfortably transporting guests.
TYKUN X offers not only high performance but also flexibility in design. Owners can adapt the layout to their needs, installing fold-down sides, sun loungers, a bar counter, and much more. The cabin with a toilet allows guests to stay on board overnight, while the cockpit can be configured for relaxation or socializing.
MED Group plans to expand the TYKUN line by adding 8 and 12-meter models, as well as a version with a hydrogen engine. The hydrogen model has already been certified and demonstrates the company's commitment to green technologies.
The vessel is now entering a key phase of outfitting, during which all interior work will be completed and the most complex life support and navigation systems will be installed. After delivery to the client, expected in 2027, Project Defy will sail under the flag of the Cayman Islands.
Despite its remarkable size, it will not surpass the shipyard's flagship — the 180-meter yacht Azzam, launched in 2013. Nevertheless, Project Defy confirms Lürssen's status as one of the leading shipyards in the mega and giga yacht segment.
