Royal Huisman presents SKY – a unique opportunity for an owner seeking to buy a yacht that combines innovation and luxury. This 81-meter (264-foot) sailing superyacht will become the tallest sloop in the world, featuring a mast towering 93 meters (305 feet) high – equivalent to the height of the Statue of Liberty in New York. The naval architecture and sleek exterior design were developed by Malcolm McKeon Yacht Design (MMYD), while the elegant interior was crafted by the experts at Winch Design. The vessel will be equipped with a carbon rig provided by Rondal.

The SKY project is fully ready for construction, with the design and most of the engineering already completed. This significantly reduces the timeline, allowing the yacht to be delivered to its owner by spring 2030, unlike the usual six or more years required for projects of this scale.

The World’s Tallest Sailing Yacht

SKY is designed for global cruising and exceptional sailing performance. Her long waterline, lift keel, twin carbon rudders, full aluminum hull, and powerful rig will enable her to sail faster than the wind and outpace motor yachts of a similar length. The yacht’s sails and steering can be controlled directly from the helm stations thanks to integrated sail handling systems, ensuring maneuverability and ease of operation comparable to yachts up to 50 meters (164 feet) in length.

The yacht boasts numerous outdoor living areas, including a flybridge. Owners and guests will enjoy being close to the water, thanks to the aft beach deck with an extendable swim platform, folding platforms on either side, and a cockpit with folding bulwarks.

Unique Features

SKY will continue the successful collaboration between Royal Huisman and MMYD, who previously created Sarissa – a 60-meter (197-foot) high-performance sailing yacht that won 10 prestigious awards in 2024.

The rig of SKY will surpass the current world record by 4 meters (14 feet). The carbon mast, boom, and integrated sail handling system by Rondal will ensure effortless and safe sail management. Below deck, the yacht will accommodate a 12-meter (39-foot) tender, a crew/rescue tender, two jet skis, and an array of equipment for water and other sports, including seabobs, bicycles, SUP boards, kayaks, and diving gear. This extensive range of gear eliminates the need for a separate support vessel.

Interior and Comfort

The interior of SKY, inspired by nature, is designed to accommodate 10–12 guests. It features clean, sculptural lines, natural textures, and a calm color palette, enhanced with luxurious details.

The spacious full-beam owner’s suite has direct access to the large aft beach deck. Oversized hull windows flood the space with natural light. Among the guest amenities are a midship wellness spa and a watersports center, ensuring a comfortable and enjoyable stay on board.

Sustainability and Innovation

The propulsion system is based on electric azimuthing pods powered by four generators working in tandem with a battery bank. This setup enables silent, emission-free operation. Additionally, the system can regenerate energy while the yacht is under sail, further enhancing its eco-friendly credentials.
