The 79.5-meter yacht Project 715 has been launched at the Feadship shipyard in Aalsmeer. Now named Valor, this vessel is the latest Feadship creation in the category of "explorer" yachts. The six-deck yacht, built for a long-time Feadship client, features a steel hull with a reinforced ice belt measuring 2 meters wide. This ensures compliance with the Bureau Veritas Young Ice 2 class, enabling the owner to fulfill their dream of navigating the Northwest Passage—a sea route through the Arctic Ocean along the northern coast of North America and the Canadian Arctic Archipelago. In addition to the ice belt, the yacht is equipped with heat exchangers for more efficient energy use, helping Valor handle the harsh Arctic conditions.

According to the shipyard, the yacht is equipped with one of the most eco-friendly and efficient propulsion systems available today: a diesel-electric powertrain supported by batteries and a solar panel array.

Valor draws power from four ultra-efficient variable-speed generators, connected to a direct current grid and a water-cooled lithium-ion battery. This setup allows the yacht to achieve zero carbon emissions for up to two days and generates five times more energy than the 83.5-meter Savannah, launched by Feadship in 2015 as the world’s first hybrid superyacht. Additionally, Valor will be tested with biofuel derived from hydrotreated vegetable oil (HVO), which is claimed to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 90%. The yacht is powered by Shottel EcoPeller azipod thrusters, enabling a top speed of 15 knots.

At the owner’s request, the yacht’s exterior design evokes the appearance of military vessels. According to Chris Bottoms of Studio De Voogt, the client wanted to avoid the traditional "wedding cake" aesthetic typical of large displacement yachts, as well as the trendy curved lines. Instead, they sought a design that would make the yacht recognizable "even from space."

One distinctive feature of Valor, tailored to the owner’s lifestyle, is its spacious walkaround decks. In addition to traditional outdoor leisure areas, the designers included a "relief station" with a lawn and a shower for the owner’s three golden retrievers.

The yacht can accommodate up to 14 guests across six staterooms on the main deck. The owner has a private deck, which includes a forward-facing stateroom with access to the helipad, an outdoor lounge with a jacuzzi, a large dressing room, a bathroom, and a study. The skylounge features a formal dining area with sliding glass walls that open onto an outdoor deck, offering a seamless indoor-outdoor experience.

The interiors were designed by the British studio Bannenberg & Rowell. While images of the interior remain under wraps, it has been revealed that the design will include furniture by George Nakashima, Linley, Pollaro, and Silver Lining. The centerpiece of the interior is a grand staircase designed by Bannenberg & Rowell, comprising 48,001 individual components, including bronze and stone. Additionally, all six decks are connected by an elevator.

One standout feature is the infinity pool with a counter-current swimming system located at the stern. Measuring 8.4 by 2.6 meters, it is one of the largest pools ever installed on a Feadship yacht.
