Stratos: a yacht with a 150 sqm beach club

Isaac Burrough, a yacht designer from New Zealand, revealed a new project named Stratos. It is an 80-metre motoryacht defined by sculptural surfaces, bold contrasts, and a striking visual identity. Inspired by modern automotive design, Stratos is a study in tension—where soft curves meet hard chamfers, creating an interplay of light and shadow that shifts with every movement.
"For Stratos, I drew inspiration from the sleek, sculptural forms of automotive design to create an aesthetic that is unapologetically bold and modern. Its distinctive visual language is designed to turn heads, while its timeless elegance ensures Stratos remains as relevant tomorrow as she is today." – Isaac Burrough
Light bars span the aft of each deck, accentuating Stratos' form and presence with a distinctive glow. Cantilevered above the swim platform, a striking transverse pool stretches across the stern.
The glass bottom and aft wall allow light to pass through the pool, painting the platform below with shifting patterns and reflections—an immersive experience from the moment guests step aboard.
Inside, Stratos is designed for ultimate connection to the sea. Expansive glazing and low bulwarks ensure uninterrupted views and blur the boundary between interior and exterior. Set behind the foredeck, the forward-facing owner’s suite enjoys sweeping panoramas and private deck access. The stern beach club offers an expansive retreat for guests, spanning 150 square meters—rivaling the size of those found on much larger yachts.
Above, the top deck carries forward the automotive theme with sweeping rooflines that evoke the sleek contours of high-performance cars. The design takes an innovative approach to space—dedicating this level entirely to bridge, crew, and technical areas, and optimizing the decks below for uninterrupted luxury.
Stratos redefines the relationship between yacht and environment, with bold proportions, seamless detailing, and a reimagined guest experience. The accompanying visuals amplify the yacht’s bold form and identity. Breaking free from the conventions of traditional lifestyle images, the visuals focus on light, surface, and form—presenting Stratos not just as an impressive yacht, but as a statement that pushes the boundaries of modern yacht design.
