The Naples-based shipyard has built its reputation on cruisers with transformable sterns and a high degree of customisation. Now, it has taken on a project twice the size of its previous average models—the 30-meter superyacht R9.

The yacht looks as if Harry Potter cast the "Engorgio" spell on an Evo boat! Designer Valerio Rivellini has stayed true to his signature aesthetic for the exterior. The aluminium hull features a powerful vertical bow and a low-profile stern with side air intakes (a nod to the designer's love for supercars—naturally!). The superstructure is fully encased in polarised glass, resembling a protective shell. The carbon frames are thin and nearly invisible, giving the impression of a seamless, intricately folded giant origami figure. Beneath this striking design lies a more traditional rectangular cabin, similar to that of the Evo V8. On its roof is the upper helm station, which doubles as an observation deck. It is shielded from the sun and sprayed by the overhanging edge of the same glass shell.

At the bow, in front of the superstructure, there is a relaxation area. A large U-shaped sofa with a high backrest provides privacy from prying eyes. When the yacht is docked, guests can gather at the bow to dine and enjoy each other's company without worrying about onlookers. As expected, the stern will be transformable: the bulwarks will slide outward, and the swim platform will either submerge underwater or rise for easy boarding. This means the beach club will rival those of 40- or even 50-meter yachts.

The shipyard has yet to reveal details about the interior layout, as it will largely depend on the owner's preferences. Evo Yachts emphasises that the owner is the centre of their universe, offering numerous options and finishes. It is known that the yacht can accommodate 3 or 4 guest cabins, including a master suite, and host up to four crew members.

A standout feature of the Evo R9 is its advanced propulsion system, which boasts two or three engines, each with 2,200 horsepower. With this setup, the yacht can achieve a top speed of 50 to 58 knots and a cruise speed of 40 to 44 knots. For a 30-meter yacht, those are truly impressive figures!
