Ordering a Pershing yacht is like declaring among fellow yachtsmen, "I want to live brightly, joyfully, freely, and at full speed." The second model of the new GTX line confirms this. Throughout its history, the brand has been linked to the creative genius of Fulvio De Simoni, with the flagship GTX116 as a prime example. For its smaller sister, the Ferretti Group enlisted Andrea Vallicelli, known for daring projects for ISA and Turquoise. In this two-deck beauty with a spacious flybridge, he captures the sporty spirit of the brand. The flagship vibe is evident in every detail, from the streamlined superstructure with almost uninterrupted glazing to the sleek hull lines that suggest speed, even at rest. The bow angle is slightly reduced, bold slits appear in the bulwarks, and folding "wings" on the transom turn the swim platform into a seaside beach.
The relaxation area at the stern has two levels: one for active leisure at the water's edge and another for relaxation in the cockpit on the main deck. The swim platform, 28 square meters and nearly 9 meters wide, is a key feature, adjustable by a powerful F.lli Canalicchio system. When launching the RIB tender and jet ski from the garage, part of the platform submerges. In its upper position, it serves as a gangway or diving platform. Unfold the wings for a huge platform. Love diving? There's space for equipment and artifacts. Want an aqua disco? Set up DJ gear and dance barefoot on teak warmed by the sun. Relax in lounge chairs? Fit five to seven of them.
The elevated cockpit is perfect for aperitifs or dining al fresco, with room for a table seating eight. Just behind, an open galley with a bar counter offers three-sided access, turning into an outdoor bar with an electric window. This creates a relaxed club atmosphere, blurring indoor and outdoor spaces.
Sliding glass doors lead to a 36-square-meter living room. The interior can be styled casually with cozy chairs and a folding table or formally with a dining table for eight. The design aligns with the Pershing GTX80's dynamic character and philosophy of harmony with the sea. Panoramic windows create unity with the water. Even seated on the sofa, you stay connected to the sea.
Sea and light dominate the interior, especially in the living room, where ceiling lighting plays a key role. Silky gray-painted wooden panels intersect with diagonal LED strips, distributing light evenly. The minimalist design features interesting angles. The color palette contrasts warm leather sofas with cold metallic decor.
In the wheelhouse, the advanced control station with three Simrad displays is central. The large windshield offers a panoramic view, with a hatch above for ventilation and sea experiences. Descending the stairs, you reach the lower deck with two layout options: four cabins with en-suite bathrooms or three cabins plus a dining area and extra toilet.
The heart of the yacht is the full-beam master cabin, a private oasis with its bathroom. Gray leather wall panels resemble stormy sky windows against warm wood. This style is echoed in ceiling panels with dancing LED strips. Lighting accents are key. In the master cabin, vertical light strips create shadow play. The bathroom features lacquered metal panels with a sky-blue column for storage. Black faucets add contrast. Even here, ceiling strips echo the bedroom design.
Guest cabins are separate from crew quarters, ensuring privacy. Following the GTX116, the GTX80 boasts a 23-square-meter flybridge, 60% larger than its peers. This creates a sense of freedom and grandeur valued in Gran Turismo yachts. The flybridge has a gourmet area with sofas and a folding table, a wet bar, and a sunbed. Three captain's chairs offer a view as the yacht slices through waves at 34 knots.
Internally, three Volvo Penta D13 IPS1350 engines provide 1000 horsepower each, allowing speeds up to 34 knots and cruising at 28 knots. You can travel 300 miles without refueling, easily reaching destinations like Muscat from Ajman. The GTX80 meets strict European ocean yacht standards (CE, class A) and features advanced technology like Volvo IPS steering and joystick control, making marina maneuvering and docking easy.
Standard Humphree stabilizers ensure comfort, but for perfectionists, Seakeeper NG 9 gyrostabilizers are optional. Instead of saying, "This yacht will attract attention in the marina," ask, "Is the marina beautiful enough for such a yacht?"
