Lewis Hamilton has marked the beginning of a new chapter in his illustrious career by spending a day at Ferrari's headquarters in Maranello. The seven-time Formula 1 World Champion has joined Scuderia Ferrari after leaving Mercedes, stepping into the role of Charles Leclerc’s teammate, replacing Carlos Sainz.
Hamilton shared a photo of him posing in a sleek black suit alongside the iconic Ferrari F40. “There are some days that you know you’ll remember forever, and today, my first as a Ferrari driver, is one of those days,” he wrote. “Part of me has always held on to that dream of racing in red. I couldn’t be happier to realise that dream today.”

On his first day, Hamilton received a warm welcome from Ferrari CEO Benedetto Vigna, team principal Fred Vasseur, and vice chairman of the board Piero Ferrari (the son of Enzo Ferrari, who is also a shareholder and head of development at the Italian yacht-building powerhouse Ferretti Group). As part of his “immersion program,” Hamilton toured the Fiorano test track and the historic office of the late Ferrari founder Enzo Ferrari, getting acquainted with the team.

Ferrari has confirmed that Hamilton will spend the week completing pre-season tasks, including technical briefings and meetings with various departments, as part of his preparation to race for the legendary team.
It’s worth noting that Lewis Hamilton is no stranger to yachting—according to several media outlets, the driver owns a Sunseeker 90 motor yacht. And one can’t help but suspect that Piero Ferrari might seize the opportunity to entice Hamilton into exploring one of the Ferretti Group yacht brands.
