Prada has unveiled its 2025 Re-Nylon Collection, a line of sportswear crafted from materials derived from plastic waste recovered from the ocean. The story behind the collection’s creation and the impact of the Re-Nylon initiative on ocean preservation is explored in a series of films produced in collaboration with National Geographic CreativeWorks. Featuring renowned actors Benedict Cumberbatch and Sadie Sink, alongside Prada's SEA BEYOND project ambassadors Valentina Gottlieb and Giovanni Chimienti, these documentaries shed light on the global issue of marine pollution and Prada’s innovative solutions to combat it.

The Re-Nylon line is made from Econyl, a regenerated nylon sourced from recycled plastic waste. By reducing the use of virgin materials, Prada is taking a significant step towards enhancing sustainability within the luxury industry. The collection comprises 191 pieces, blending Prada’s signature minimalism with contemporary sophistication. Standout items include the Re-Nylon bucket hat, a backpack, and a Saffiano leather bag, all predominantly presented in elegant black and adorned with Prada’s iconic logo. Adding a refreshing pop of colour to the timeless designs, two unique pieces break away from the monochrome palette with vibrant shades like Bottle Green and Aviator Blue. The featured accessories benefit Prada’s SEA BEYOND initiative with 1% of Re-Nylon collection proceeds supporting global educational programs.

SEA BEYOND is a project by Prada Group conducted in partnership with the Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission of UNESCO (UNESCO-IOC) since 2019 to raise awareness of sustainability and ocean preservation, contributing to the progress of ocean education on a global scale through a series of training initiatives for younger generations. Since its debut, the educational program has shared the principles of ocean literacy with more than 35,000 students around the world. Moreover, the “Kindergarten of the Lagoon” project—outdoor education activities for preschool children in Venice—was launched in 2021 to create links between kids and the lagoon ecosystem. While the main focus remains education, SEA BEYOND has recently extended its scope with two new areas of focus: support for scientific research dissemination and humanitarian projects, both dedicated to the ocean.
