Panerai has unveiled the PAM01628 model, the new Luminor Tre Giorni, where the brand's legendary heritage meets modern technology.

Housed in a robust steel case with a patina finish, this model draws inspiration from the wristwatches worn by Italian commandos during underwater missions. At that time, a large dial diameter was essential for easy reading, and this new watch features a 47 mm case to accommodate that need.

The multi-layered dial, featuring a grey and black gradient, is adorned with luminous beige hands and hour markers, ensuring maximum readability even in low-light conditions. This dial design, developed by Panerai in the late 1930s, has evolved into its current form with two overlapping plates, the lower of which is filled with the luminescent compound Super-LumiNovaTM.

Jean-Marc Pontroué, CEO of Panerai, states, “Our mission at Panerai is to honour our rich heritage while also moving forward with modern innovations. The Luminor Tre Giorni is designed to pay tribute to the historical elements of our early watches, conveying their distinctive aesthetic and practical functionality. These timepieces embody our ongoing commitment to blend tradition with cutting-edge watchmaking.”

At the heart of the PAM01628 is the P.3000 movement, featuring manual winding and a three-day power reserve, which can be viewed through the transparent case back. The finishing of the P.3000 calibre is characterised by its simplicity and utility, reflecting the practical needs of the military divers who first relied on these reliable instruments.
