Alia Yachts has announced the premiere of the 45m custom yacht Project SAN at the upcoming Monaco Yacht Show (25-28 September). The vessel completed her sea trials in June this year.

The yacht with aluminium hull and superstructure was designed by Sinot Yacht Architecture & Design, with Lateral Naval Architects responsible for the naval architecture. The SAN design is characterised by a low, predatory superstructure and clean lines, with an emphasis on open spaces on the main deck sloping aft to the water in full beam steps. The interior of the yacht is reported to be minimalist in style in line with the exterior, but is characterised by deep attention detailing. The overall design is much closer to modern large sailing yachts than to traditional motor yachts.

In addition to the chopped shapes and dark grey hull and superstructure, the SAN has a rather unusual choice of propulsion for a vessel of her size, with four Volvo IPS drives.

Much attention has been paid to functionality on board, with tables easily converted from dining to cocktail evenings and sunbathing areas to sofas. The open lounge aft can be extended by lowering the bulwarks. The yacht is equipped with four cabins, including the master suite.
