Second skin
The costume fabric made from the wool of Escorial sheep used by Neapolitan brand Stile Latino can compete in value with cashmere and perhaps even with vicuña.

Vincenzo Attolini, a scion of the renowned Neapolitan tailoring dynasty, lives by three principles: "A suit as a second skin. A suit as a way of life. A suit for pleasure." To uphold these ideals, he uses only the finest fabrics in the collections of his brand, Stile Latino.

For the spring-summer collection, special attention is given to Escorial sheep wool—a material that rivals cashmere and even vicuña in many respects. (Interestingly, the population of Escorial sheep is 20 times smaller than that of vicuñas.) Attolini considers Escorial wool nearly perfect: it is lightweight, flexible, breathable, and quick to recover from creasing.

The history of this precious fiber traces back to the Spanish royal court. Its name is inspired by the Royal Monastery of San Lorenzo de El Escorial near Madrid, where the original flock grazed. In 1829, a resourceful Scottish woman acquired a small number of these prized sheep and transported them to Australia, where they thrived far from the historical upheavals that wiped out the European population.

Today, a suit made from Escorial fabric is a luxury in and of itself, but the quality of craftsmanship is equally important. Stile Latino garments are exclusively handcrafted in the town of Casalnuovo di Napoli. The artisans, personally trained by Vincenzo Attolini, produce only a few tailored pieces per day—entirely by hand and to the highest standards. Signor Attolini oversees every stage of production and personally inspects the details, including the shape and alignment of stitches, shoulder lines, sleeves, collars, and buttonholes.

A suit marked with the Escorial label promises unparalleled comfort during travel and packing. You can bend, twist, and move freely without worrying about seams splitting under strain. As for the design, Stile Latino embraces quintessential Neapolitan elegance—refined yet effortless.
