Черные статуэтки созданы из материала Parley Ocean Plastic, который является переработанными отходами, собранными с удаленных островов, пляжей и береговых линий. Каждая награда эквивалентна примерно 75 пластиковым бутылкам. Этот же материал ранее использовался для создания спортивной обуви, такой, как походные ботинки Adidas Terrex. Представители Parley for the Oceans надеются, что новый дизайн «будет способствовать позитивным изменениям в индустрии моды» и более заботливому отношению к окружающей среде.
