В старейшей в мире гонке на выносливость проверяется как надежность автомобилей, так и физическая и психологическая выносливость водителей. Она была впервые проведена во Франции в 1923 году. Трасса длиной 13,629 км (8,47 мили) проходит как по специально простроенным участкам, так и по дорогам общего пользования, которые закрывают на время гонки. С 2001 года официальным партнером и официальными часами гонки «24 часов Ле-Мана» является часовой бренд Rolex.
