Всероссийская федерация парусного спорта (ВФПС) отметила лучших спортсменов сезона, определив лауреатов премии «Яхтсмен года». Награда — хрустальный парусник — нашла обладателей в 11 номинациях. В частности, яхтсменом года был признан чемпион России в кайтбординге в дисциплине «курс-рейс» Иван Доронин, яхтсменками — экипаж Екатерины Скудиной, победивший в Кильской регате и завоевавший первую для России лицензию на Олимпиаду-2012.
