Clear Waves: A "Glass Concept" by Benetti and Luca Dini
The traditional superstructure of a 70-meter superyacht will be replaced by a transparent dome with an area of 400 square meters, beneath which a wellness zone and a garden with live plants will be located.
For the development of Clear Waves, the Italian shipyard Benetti enlisted not only the world-renowned studio Luca Dini Design & Architecture, but also longevity and health specialists from The Longevity Suite — and together they radically reimagined the role of the yacht as a residential ecosystem.

The project is built on five principles: environment, movement, social interaction, mental and spiritual well-being, and advanced technology. The unifying element for all of them is the 400-square-meter Glass Dome, which spans two decks in the central part of the yacht. This monumental structure fills the interior with natural light and provides panoramic views to the sides and upward at any time of day, from dawn to deep night, making the surrounding landscapes an integral part of the everyday perception of the space.

More than 60% of the dome's surface is covered with semi-transparent photovoltaic panels, while the glass itself has low-emissivity properties and filters infrared and ultraviolet radiation. The dome is also equipped with a climate control system featuring on-demand power regulation technology and a natural ventilation system.
This made it possible to create an interior space "conducive to human restoration and renewal" — unlike traditional layouts, where spa centers are hidden on the lower deck, the wellness zone on Clear Waves is placed on the upper deck and complemented by live plants.

Here, there are lounges for relaxation, an island with drinks and snacks, a pool complex with contrasting water temperatures, and treatment rooms, including a hyperbaric chamber and a cryotherapy room. The wellness program includes personalized diagnostics and the most advanced recovery and biohacking technologies, such as dry floating, whole-body cryotherapy, near-infrared therapy, and hydrogen-oxygen therapy.

"The goal of the project is to go beyond the traditional idea of wellness on board and turn time spent on the yacht into an opportunity to continue the path toward prevention, mindfulness, recovery, and self-care," noted Luigi Caterino, CEO of The Longevity Suite.

Designer Luca Dini, in turn, emphasized: "Working on Clear Waves was an opportunity for us to embody the ideas of a new era of 'regenerative luxury' in the unique style of our studio. We conceived these spaces as a living ecosystem in which the majestic glass dome erases the boundaries between people, the surrounding environment, and the sea."

The Clear Waves superyacht will feature hybrid propulsion with a dual-fuel system adapted for the use of biofuel and methanol (validated by Lloyd's Register with the participation of Meccano Engineering). Alternative energy has also not been forgotten: in addition to the solar elements on the dome, more than 250 square meters of additional solar panels with a capacity of up to 120 kWh are installed on board. Smart resource management also includes the use of heat recovery systems, advanced water purification, and emissions control.
A customer for Clear Waves has not yet been found. The Benetti shipyard is using this 70-meter project as a demonstration of its technological capabilities and considers it a promising vector for the development of eco-friendly yachting in the near future.
