German Naval Yards has introduced its latest superyacht concept, the 93-metre KOA, created in collaboration with Swisship Yacht Projects and Monaco-based Pascoli International. Designed as a cutting-edge platform for large yachts, the vessel combines hybrid propulsion technology with an aft-centric layout that emphasises seamless access to the sea.
With a beam of 14.60 metres, a draught of 4 metres, and an interior volume of approximately 3,500 GT, KOA boasts a sleek and modern exterior. The design features clean, straight window lines, flush glass elements, and glass-panel railings, giving it a contemporary and refined appearance. At its core, the yacht’s propulsion system is built around two MAN 175D engines paired with a 450 kW PTO/PTI system. This setup is complemented by a 3 MW Corvus battery pack, which enables peak-load shaving, quiet manoeuvring, and silent operation while at anchor. The yacht is expected to achieve a silent cruising speed of around 11 knots, with a maximum speed of approximately 18 knots.
One of the standout features is a sunken pool on the aft main deck, complete with a glass bottom that allows natural light to filter into the beach club below. The beach club itself offers direct access to the water via an aft door and two fold-down terraces. The lower deck also houses a watersports and diving centre, as well as a fully equipped gym. Accommodation for up to 32 crew members is thoughtfully integrated into the design, ensuring smooth operations and exceptional service.
The guest quarters, located forward, include six luxurious suites, four of which can be converted into two spacious VIP suites. Additionally, the yacht is equipped with a full-beam tender garage capable of housing two 10-metre tenders, a 6.2-metre crew boat, an MOB tender, and other essential equipment. The battery systems are securely stored in a dedicated compartment to ensure optimal safety and functionality.
